it tastes better at the ball park

Two weekends ago we grabbed some friends and headed to Seattle for our first and last baseball game of the
summer. We're a little behind this year. It was a hot day but we were loving the sunshine. Baseball games just
smell like summer to me. We all filled up on hot dogs, pizza, garlic fries, nachos, and ice cream. It was an all or
nothing kind of day. After the game we spent an hour or so walking around the waterfront. Has anyone else seen
the new ferris wheel in Seattle?! I love all the new updates over there. After we checked out the shops it was
time for dinner at BJ's and then a tired drive home. Thanks Parrys and Dicoratos! Let's do it again soon.

a beach story, pt. 3 (and the last, I promise)

I know....more pictures. We got a little camera happy. On our last day we took the ferry to Balboa Island
and spent a few hours riding bikes around the boardwalk and to the beach. This was one of my favorite
things to do. We were quite the spectacle all ten of us, but we stayed together and didn't run into one
thing (or person)! A huge success. Ice cream was our obvious choice to cool down and finish the day. The
next morning we were off on 3 different flights and one road trip back home. It was a great way to end the
summer. Thanks Mom and Dad for making this happen! We're some very lucky kids.

a beach story, pt. 2

The next day we spent time by the pool drinking root beer floats and playing Chess on a life size board.
Or "chest" as Brady likes to call it. But we couldn't stay away from the beach long. Thanks to my brother,
we found a local Mexican place with the best burritos. Then we hiked down The Stairs of a Thousand Steps
to the beach where we played volleyball and found some starfish. There's something so therapeutic about
living in your swimsuit, sleeping on the sand, wearing no makeup, and jumping in the ocean. I'm quickly
realizing I need vacations more often.

a beach story, pt. 1

Last year we spent a week in Newport for a family reunion and since then we've all been itching to go
back. So this summer my parents found a great deal on a little condo and we headed over for a family
vacation. Unfortunately for the second time, Steve couldn't come. I guess getting a brand new job means
no time off for awhile. I was so sad he had to miss out again. The week was short but jam packed with
beach time. We spent most of our days on different parts of Laguna Beach and ended at Balboa Island.
Family vacations can always be hard with so many people plus the little ones. But let me tell ya, those
two boys were the life of the party. I mean, who doesn't love a naked baby bum in the sand?
