a best friend's wedding

2 weeks ago we celebrated another old roomie's wedding. Kersie and I met our freshman year of college
and found out we both grew up in Vancouver. It was an instant friendship and we were roommates until I
got married 3 years later. Kersie amazes me with all she's accomplished in life so far and I couldn't be
more happy to see her find someone to share it with. We started the weekend with a mini bachelorette
party. Naturally the pink boxes made an appearance with desserts to top it off (couldn't have done it
without you Hales :) It was good to see so many old faces in one place. The next day they were married
in the Portland Temple followed by a gorgeous reception. We ate way too much pie, did a little dancing,
and a whole lot of chatting. Can someone else get married now? Weddings are so much fun.

A few weeks ago my parents had to put our family dog down. We found out he had major health
issues and wouldn't be around much longer. I was surprised at how crushed I was. It was so hard
to say goodbye. He was getting old and I knew it was coming, but that didn't make it easy. After having
him for 10 years he really became apart of our family. It still makes me teary every time I think about it.
Toby was such a sweet, calm dog and always knew when we needed a snuggle. He was our best friend
for 10 years and really made life a little better. We love you Tobes. Thanks for being the best dog
in the world.

friends, rafts, and a river

I've really been neglecting our blog for the past few months (more like six). So for the five of you who
actually read this, forgive me. I have a lot to catch up on but no time to do it. Let's just start with this weekend.
100 degree weather gave us the perfect excuse to get out of town. Thanks to our friend Wes, who planned the
trip, all 12 of us were able to camp together and prep for a full day of rafting. We had six tents in one site; our
own little village of crazies :) Unfortunately, the water-proof camera our friends brought was lost in the waves
after a nasty spill, so this is the only picture we have. Bummer. But it was such a beautiful day! I forgot how
much fun white water rafting can be and how gorgeous Oregon is in the summer. Aside from our occasional
spills, we held our own pretty well on the river. 2 rafts, 12 people, great conversation, and lots of freezing
water. A pretty amazing Saturday. Thanks everyone for making it happen! We had a blast.
