Right when we heard about the ninety degree weekend coming up,
we decided we had to get out of our no-AC apartment.

Our solution was a camping trip.
It was a little last minute so no one else could join us but we had fun; just the two of us.
We camped at Battle Ground lake and had a nice site right by the water. It was simple but
totally worth getting out of the heat and spending time together. It's not often you can get
away from everything and just be.

We started with tin foil dinners which are one of Steve's favorites, who knew?
They take awhile to cook but well worth the wait (I got a tin foil dinners
cookbook from our wedding, maybe now I'll start using it). I know it looks
disgusting but I promise, it was tasty.
And naturally we had to make s'mores.
The next morning was gorgeous and already warm by 10 o'clock.
You can't beat Washington in the summer.

It was a quick trip but we're ready to go again next weekend.
My mom and i (she's here visiting) LOVED reading about your sweet get away in nature at it's best :) And having it just the 2 of you is perfect!! Glad you guys had so much fun! (and we love that there's a cookbook for tinfoil dinners:)
